Good news for small businesses in the state of Florida: The Sunshine State ranks as the fifth most entrepreneur-friendly state nationwide, according to the 19th annual Small Business Policy Index 2014.
The index ranks all 50 states according to 42 different policy measures, including a wide array of tax, regulatory and government spending measures.
The most entrepreneur-friendly states include:
"Policies clearly affect the environment for investment, entrepreneurship and small business growth," said SBE Council President and CEO Karen Kerrigan. "Top-tier policy states like Texas, Nevada, South Dakota, Florida and Wyoming continue to leverage their long-standing policy advantage, and are doing things to get even better."
Members of the BioFlorida network include emerging and established life science companies, universities, research institutions, hospitals, medical centers, incubators, economic development agencies, investors and service providers.
