The Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE)

The Biotechnician Assistant Credentialing Exam (BACE) was established in 2012 at Biotility to support economic development and provide skilled workers for Florida’s expanding bioscience Industry. Now used nationally, the BACE serves to document mastery of knowledge and skill sets valued by industry when hiring for entry-level positions. Obtain an industry-recognized workforce credential; Earn three (3) postsecondary credit hours in any of Florida’s A.S. programs in Biotechnology

BACE Testing Format:

The BACE includes both a written examination (Knowledge Exam) and a practical skills evaluation (Practical Exam). Both assessments are closed book. The cutscore is 79.5 and is determined by averaging the highest grade of the Knowledge Exam and the highest grade of the Practical Exam. The Knowledge Exam is delivered as a web-based multiple choice exam. The Practical exam is delivered as a paper and pencil exam, plus evaluator assessment of equipment use and techniques. 

Testing Fee:  $150 (includes online knowledge and practical components)
