COMMITTEES

 

Any number of BioFlorida member employees can join and participate in BioFlorida committees. Committee chairs may change and/or set participation limits and qualifications as warranted. Committee meetings are only for current BioFlorida members and not open to the public.

 

Annual Conference Standing Committee
Purpose: To identify long-range conference goals, potential conference locations and programs. Committee members will assist the Steering Committee with historical information as needed.

2008 Annual Conference Steering Committee
Purpose: To establish, recommend and help with sponsorship recruitment, marketing and PR, programming and speakers for the 2008 Annual Conference.

BIO Annual Convention Bid Committee
Purpose: To explore the requirements and expectations for Florida to host a future BIO Annual Convention, and to prepare and submit the bid for hosting. 

Education & Workforce Committee
Purpose: To recommend and initiate programs for members and the community, and to support academic institute bioscience education.

Legislative Committee
Purpose: To identify and recommend legislative and economic development priorities on a state and national level.

Membership Committee
Purpose: To recommend and help implement new membership programs and enhanced benefits that support BioFlorida members, and to identify and recruit new members.

 

NETWORKS

 

Any number of BioFlorida member employees can join and participate in BioFlorida networks. Network chairs may change and/or set participation limits and qualifications as warranted. Network meetings and/or roundtable discussions are only for current BioFlorida members and not open to the public. It is important to understand that these networks are peer-to-peer networks and are not open to solicitations.

 

Bio/Pharma Executives Network
Purpose: To provide a voice for the needs of the biotech and pharmaceutical communities. Network is restricted to senior bio/pharma R&D executives and/or manufacturing.

 

Business Development Network
Purpose: To discuss trends and opportunities in partnering, alliances, sales, M&A and corporate growth in the bioscience industry.  Network is restricted to bioscience business development professionals.

 

Corporate Finance Network
Purpose: To discuss issues specific to the financial operation of bioscience companies. Network is limited to senior corporate finance professionals.

Emerging Leaders Network
Purpose: To identify and cultivate the next generation of emerging leaders in the industry.  Network is limited to students and young professionals entering the bioscience industry.

 

Medical Device Executives Network
Purpose: To identify issues specific to the medical device and technology and diagnostic markets. Network is limited to senior medical device executives only.

 

Real Estate Network
Purpose: To understand and recognize issues specific to the design and development of bioscience facilities. Network is limited to developers, architects, builders and other real estate professionals. 

 

Research Leaders Network
Purpose: To develop leadership skills for principal investigations.  Network is limited to scientific (non-administrative) personnel.

 

Women in Biosciences Network
Purpose: To talk about issues pertinent to women in biosciences.
