Oregon biotech signs deal, headed to Port St. Lucie

The city's next biotechnology resident has signed an agreement with Gov. Charlie Crist's office and expects to get its first $15 million in state incentives within about two weeks.

The Portland, Ore.-based Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, a branch of the Oregon Health & Science University, agreed last week to a contract with the governor's Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development. It must finalize a few details before it receives its first payment, said Daniel Dorsa, vice president for research at the university.
