Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research Brings Strong Community Leaders on the New Foundation Board

TAMPA, Fla. — Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research (LEITR) is expanding and strengthening its foundation board by adding community leaders Laura Walsh and Brian Adcock, leading up to its annual fundraiser, the Eye Ball Gala, on October 14.

The Lions Eye Institute Foundation raises funds and awareness in the crusade against blindness, helping Lions Eye Institute continue the good work they do to eradicate preventable blindness through eye tissue transplantation, research and education. New members of the board, Walsh and Adcock, share that passion and bring their own talents to pursue Lions Eye Institute’s mission.

“The gift of sight is not something you should take for granted,” said Ali St Cyr, founder of Tomlin St. Cyr and Associates and fellow foundation board member. “Our board strives to share that gift with all people who need sight-restoring surgery.”

Laura Walsh, founder of Laura Walsh Events, joins the Lions Eye Institute Foundation board to enhance fundraising opportunities and community outreach. Walsh is an active community member, having been part of the Junior League of Tampa since 2014 and holding various leadership roles in community and membership projects. Walsh has dedicated more than 160 hours this year to support the Junior League’s mission and has donated event design and planning services.

The foundation also welcomes Brian Adcock, President of Adcock Financial, to the board. Adcock regularly exercises his leadership skills in both the professional and nonprofit areas, having earned recognition as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 2000 and a Top of the Table member since 2004. Adcock does not stop at only helping those in his industry. He also serves on the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital Board, Leadership Tampa Bay Board and the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Committee.

The Lions Eye Institute Foundation is thrilled to welcome these two to the board.
