JUPITER MEDICAL CENTER NAMES LIV E. VESELY PRESIDENT OF JUPITER MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION

Mount Sinai Health System of New York Fundraiser Takes the Reins

and Prepares for $300 Million Campaign Launch

JUPITER, FLA. (June 8, 2015) – Jupiter Medical Center has named Liv E. Vesley as the new President of the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation, the fundraising arm of the not-for-profit Jupiter Medical Center. Ms. Vesely, who most recently served as the Deputy Chief Development Officer at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, NY, took over the Foundation in April and immediately began preparing the Foundation’s launch of a new $300 million fundraising campaign set to kick off this fall.

“We are excited to welcome Liv to Jupiter Medical Center, especially at this critical time for the Foundation,” said John D. Couris, Jupiter Medical Center’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Liv is a dynamic, highly successful and well-credentialed development professional. I am confident that with the breadth and depth of her expertise paired with the dedication of the Foundation staff, the board and the generosity of this community, we will reach the Foundation’s fundraising goals.”

The Foundation’s upcoming $300 million campaign is designed to provide support to the goals outlined in the Medical Center’s aggressive strategic plan, which defines the growth of the Medical Center over the next eight to 10 years. Funds raised through the campaign will support Jupiter Medical Center’s continued focus on procuring the latest medical technology, implementing cutting-edge medical procedures and attracting world-class talent to the hospital.

“With healthcare, it’s not a question of if you’ll need it – it’s a question of when,” said Joe Taddeo, Chairman, Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. “Having a leader of Liv’s caliber at the helm of the Foundation will ensure that our community will have access to world-class healthcare for years to come.”

Support from the campaign will also allow the Medical Center to bring the next stages of its significant initiatives, partnerships and programs to fruition, including Phase Two of the  Oncology Campus, a $27.5 million, 74,000 square foot free-standing building to house the current Ella Milbank Foshay Cancer Center, as well as medical office space. Phase One of the campus was recently completed with the opening of the Margaret W. Niedland Breast Center in April 2015. The Niedland Breast Center provides next-generation technology for early detection of breast cancer housed in a beautiful facility designed with both the patient and community in mind.

“I am thrilled to join the Jupiter Medical Center team and am looking forward to the  completing a successful campaign,” said Ms. Vesely. “Jupiter Medical Center’s exemplary reputation, its demonstrated commitment to serving the community as a world-class medical facility, its aggressive strategy for growth and the continued support of patients and donors were what attracted me to this role. These same attributes will ensure our success in the months and years ahead.”
