BioFlorida's take on the day!
House Bill 365
February 19, 2013
Today, Immediate Past Chairman of BioFlorida, Sue Washer. President & CEO, AGTC testified in support of House Bill 365 by Representative Matt Hudson (R-Naples). HB 365 creates a Florida pathway for substitution of interchangeable biosimilar drugs to mirror the FDA rules currently being promulgated. Sue did a great job explaining the intricacies of biologic drugs and the need for patient safety concerns to the Florida House of Representatives Health Quality Subcommittee. HB 365 passed this first committee of reference by a vote of 11 to 1. Further information on HB 365 can be found on the Florida House website; www.myfloridahouse.gov.
Early Bird Registration Ending
August 10, 2012
The summer has been particularly busy and I'll fill you in on some of our priorities, meetings and industry news over the coming days and weeks. Of course, much of our staff and volunteer focus has been preparing for the Annual Conference, which is less than two months away in Miami, so I'll concentrate my comments on reminders for that today. Early registration for the conference ends on the 17th, so be sure to register today if you want to save $100! Our hotel room rate is about 50% less than their rack rate, so you'll want to reserve a room in our block soon as well. Our full program is posted on the conference page and now we are in the process of recruiting companies to present to investors during the conference. Early, mid and late stage biopharma and device companies can apply to present on our site until August 31. We have over 20 investors already committed to attend, so this opportunity can add substantial value to your participation in the conference. And we're now offering a $150 discount for early stage companies that apply. I look forward to seeing everyone there!
